Application Form

The John Pembroke Catalyst for Change Award acknowledges and celebrates exemplary leadership in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in your organization, community, or the Credit Union industry with clear, positive impacts in areas because of these efforts. This award is our highest recognition for organizational achievement related to DEI and is awarded annually.

Criteria

Have demonstrated sustained support for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
Have raised awareness of workplace diversity and inclusion issues
Have been a catalyst for change regarding workplace diversity, equity and inclusion and/or have impacted change within the Credit Union industry, your organization, or the community

Eligibility

Must be a natural person Credit Union with a CUES Group (Unlimited, Unlimited Plus) or Supplier Membership
Must provide:
- 2 letters of recommendation from staff members regarding how the focus on DEI has been positive for your workforce, the community, and the industry.
- 2 letters of recommendation from community leaders, organizations, or industry professionals
Your Credit Union may not be nominated by someone outside of your organization

Application Instructions

Who are the leaders of the initiative, and what are their roles in the organization as well as in relation to the initiative? What is the role of the CEO or Board?

What kinds of communication mechanisms support the initiative across the organization? Please provide specific examples and describe the communication channels that exist for employees to provide feedback about the initiative.

How are employees included in the strategy and implementation?

How does this initiative provide new knowledge to the credit union industry and to other organizations that wish to implement diversity programs?

What specific mechanisms or tools are used to ensure accountability and/or to measure progress (e.g., links to compensation/bonus, ties to promotion/advancement opportunities, ties to performance management scores)? What are the results? If the challenge has not been resolved, what are your anticipated goals?
